Surplus Underfloor Heating Buyer's Checklist Derby 2026

Every Derby buyer needs a consistent inspection process for UFH. This 2026 checklist covers what to check, questions to ask the seller, and how to protect a payment.

Before you go

  • Ring ahead — confirm the UFH is still on the yard
  • Ask for photos of the exact stock
  • Confirm price per unit and total
  • Route-plan to the Derby yard, factor in weight for return trip

On the yard

  • Wet PEX-a systems from Uponor, Nu-Heat and JG Speedfit
  • Full manifolds, actuators and pipe reels — factory-sealed
  • Same 50-year PEX warranty as new-purchase stock

Payment protection

  • Prefer card over cash for larger buys
  • Get an invoice with VAT number where applicable
  • Photograph loaded vehicle before leaving
  • Keep receipts against manufacturer warranty (surplus)

Collection and delivery inside Derby

Most Derby sellers hold stock inside DE1, DE22 and DE23 and offer East Midlands next-day £42–£68. For loads over a tonne of UFH, a hiab drop is usually more economical than multiple van runs.
